Hi Lulu

Hope your exams have been going OK.

My hubbie got both sons to their unis OK. He didn't need his blanket etc but did have a problem with the windscreen washers freezing on one trip.

Hi Lulu That is tough! Will your exams still go on if the snow continues? I have only just started getting back to normal after the Xmas break. My school is one of the few that has stayed open in my area despite the snow. My younger son has to go back to Uni today and my hubby has just gone off with...

Hi Lulu Well it looks like I will not get it finished in time. I only have a bit to do now but it is the bottom of the lady's skirt and has lots of gold metallic thread so I know it is going to take too long. Still at least I know I will have it all ready and framed to go up for next Christma...

Hi Lulu Sounds like you are being kept very busy. No stitched Xmas cards then this year I suppose. The cross-stitch I am doing is Celtic Xmas from the Celtic Ladies series. It is quite big but it is all the beads and metallic thread that takes the time. It is going to look very good when it is done ...

Hi Lulu I do feel quite strange without my son here. I actually have 2 sons, the older one has been at uni for a while and is now doing the last year of a 4 year course. I have been keeping very busy though as I am decorating the bedroom of the son who has just gone off to uni. He told me what colou...

Hi Lulu

That sounds like a good idea. Any paid work on a CV is a good thing.

My son went off to uni yesterday. I feel very odd about it. Pleased and proud but sad too. I guess all mums feel that way when their youngest leaves home.

I shall have to throw myself into crafting!

Hi Lulu Sorry to hear that your results didn't go as well as you would have liked. It is definitely worth resitting a module if you can. My son was disappointed with his C for Biology because like you he had BBDBE for his 6 modules. He was also really upset about his D for Art as he had got the feel...

Hi Lulu
Long time no post!

My son is off to uni (East Anglia) in 2 weeks time. He didn't get the BBB that they had asked for but in the end they took him with BCCD anyway. We are all so pleased and not sure whether to be excited or worried.

How are things going for you?

Hi Lulu That sounds a good plan. It depends on the school a bit what qualifications they expect a teaching assistant to have. Some will want an NVQ and some will just want good basic education and experience if possible. You might want to look at Learning Support Assistant posts if you can't get a T...

That does sound a bit fishy about the ICT but these things usually come down to money. Not that I am defending the college but some courses probably cost more to run than others. What is important is that you can get onto the teaching course you want when the time comes. My son really enjoyed his Bi...

Hi Lulu Shame about the applied ICT. I think it is a bit rough of the college to drop it when they have students who have got as far as AS. I have heard of people getting into teaching by the route you mention. It seems a good idea to me as there is nothing like actual school experience to help you ...

Hi Lulu Sorry to have not replied for so long. Been on holiday and then back to school in a new role so very busy. Your results are a bit mixed as you say. Sorry about the Geography. Are you going to continue to A2? My son has decided to drop Maths but is carrying on with Geography, Biology and Art ...

My son is :) he got Geography B Biology C Art C General Studies C Maths D He is a little disappointed with the Biology because one module dragged him down from a B and is really relieved that he got D for maths because he knew he had done badly and a...

Hi Lulu

Sorry I haven't been on here for ages. Too busy I'm afraid.

How did the race go? Did you get some sponsers?

My son has only 1 and a half weeks to go this term and, as I work in a school myself, I do too. Yipee!!!
