arm caps

Post by siggy7 »

Hi, I tried to post this the other day, but can't find!

I have made arm caps for my 3 piece suite but as the arms, on the outside, slope inwards, I am having difficulty making the arms mould to the arms. 3 piece suite is leather, so can't attach anything. Tying hasn't worked. Can anyone make any suggestions? Thanks, hopefully. :D

Hi

What material have you made the arm caps with? The only thing I can think of that doesn't involve sewing or sticking anything to your sofa is to put a wooden dowel in the cap material along the part of the sofa where it slopes. (I'm assuming the shape of your sofa now.)

If this doesn't make sense I could send you a photo explaining better.

Hi Liz,

I have made them out of wool, machine knitting them rather than corcheting them as I needed them quickly. I am only crocheting the front half circles as they won't take long. I take it by the dowels you meant to weight the cap rather than shape it to the arm?

Hope you can understand my explanation, thanks for taking the trouble to help. :D
